Hombale producer Chaluve Gowda CONFIRMS film with Hrithik Roshan; BREAKS silence on Mahavatar Narsimha’s impact on Saiyaara’s collections: “Intention was NOT to take away the success of other films”

Director Ashwin Kumar, producer Shilpaa Dhawan, Chaluve Gowda of Homebale Films and eminent distributor Anil Thadani attended the success press meet of their surprise animated blockbuster, Mahavatar Narsimha. Usually, film events are held in five-star hotels. But the success press conference of this devotional film was held at Mumbai’s ISKCON Temple. Chaluve Gowda analyzed what worked for the film and also answered how he feels that their film thwarted the run of another blockbuster film, that is, Saiyaara. Hombale producer Chaluve Gowda CONFIRMS film with Hrithik Roshan; BREAKS silence on Mahavatar Narsimha’s impact on Saiyaara’s collections: “Intention was NOT to take away the success of other films” Chaluve Gowda said, “If you see, the story was not new. In Kannada, Dr Rajkumar had acted in a film on this topic. The first Telugu colour film was Bhakta Prahlada (1967). So, the story was not new, but the way the animation was done (in Mahavatar Narsimha), especially in the last 20-25 minutes, it was no less than a live action movie.” Chaluve Gowda continued, “This is what made the film different. It was no longer a film just for the kids. We had confidence in the movie. The intention was not to take away the success of other films. But the content was so good that it managed to run successfully. Also, I feel that the other films have done their business. Those films were showing a slowing trend.” Chaluve Gowda was also asked about their upcoming films. He replied, “Our most anticipated film is coming on October 2, Kantara: Chapter 1. After that, we have Salaar 2 (titled Salaar Part 2: Shauryanga Parvam).” Chaluve Gowda then revealed, “We have signed two more movies with Prabhas sir. We have also signed a film with Hrithik Roshan. It is in the preliminary stage. We also have a couple of more projects which are in very early stages. We’ll disclose about them at the right time. We are excited (about these films).” Also Read: Ashwin Kumar promises Mahavatar Parshuram will make for a “NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN experience”; producer Chaluve Gowda reveals Prabhas-Prashanth Neel’s epic reaction to Mahavatar Narsimha: “They told Ashwin, ‘Come South and do an action film’” More Pages: Mahavatar Narsimha Box Office Collection BOLLYWOOD NEWS – LIVE UPDATES Catch us for latest Bollywood News, New Bollywood Movies update, Box office collection, New Movies Release , Bollywood News Hindi, Entertainment News, Bollywood Live News Today & Upcoming Movies 2025 and stay updated with latest hindi movies only on Bollywood Hungama. Boman Irani hails short film Momo Deal from his Spiral Bound initiative for weaving “life, love, and friendship”: "Prouder I couldn’t be"

When veteran actor Boman Irani launched his writing initiative Spiral Bound during the pandemic, it became a creative refuge for emerging storytellers. Among the earliest voices to bloom in that space was Palak Malav Shah, a promising writer now carving her own niche with an inimitable blend of emotional honesty and wry humour. Boman Irani hails short film Momo Deal from his Spiral Bound initiative for weaving “life, love, and friendship”: “Prouder I couldn’t be” Palak’s latest work is the short film Momo Deal, produced by Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films, directed by Dheeraj Jindal, and starring Anushka Kaushik and Akashdeep Arora. The tender, witty narrative follows Naman, a quiet young man coping with the sudden loss of his best friend Mahima — until her ghost returns for one night in Jaipur to share one last plate of momos, turning grief into moments of unexpected laughter. At its special premiere of the film, Boman Irani and members of the Spiral Bound writing community turned up in full support. Sharing his thoughts after watching the short film, Boman Irani said, “It’s truly heartening to see so many of us Spiral Bounders here today, supporting each other, and that, for me, is one of the most heartening things. I’m very proud to be here. As for Momo Deal, in just 13 minutes, Palak managed to capture exactly what life is all about — beyond friendships, relationships, and yes, even momos sneaking into the middle of it all. She’s woven metaphor, friendship, love, and the very philosophy of life and existence into this short film. I couldn’t be prouder.” Writer Palak Shah shares, “Momo Deal was written at a time when my longer scripts were caught in endless cycles of approvals and feedback. I missed the joy of seeing words come alive on screen. So I wrote something small, intimate, and real. No twists, no stunts — just truth,” The film has already travelled internationally, being an official selection at the Garofano Rosso Film Festival in Italy, the Accra Indie Filmfest in Ghana, and more. Now available on YouTube. Palak’s journey as a writer has just begun. She is currently developing a feature with Divyang Thakkar (Director, Jayeshbhai Jordaar), a Netflix-commissioned drama with Balaji Telefilms, and another feature with a leading female filmmaker. In an industry often obsessed with spectacle, her work is proof that you don’t need noise to create impact — you just need to mean every word you write. Coolie tornado strikes War 2 internationally; Rajinikanth starrer grosses Rs. 27 crores compared to Rs. 4.5 crore for War 2

The Rajinikanth led Coolie is turning out to be a box office hurricane as the film has surpassed all expectations in the advance booking. With 6 days to go for release, Coolie has sold tickets worth Rs. 27 crores in the international markets, making it the best advance of all time for an Indian film outside of Baahubali 2. Leading from the front is the US, followed by Malaysia, the UAE, and Australia/New Zealand. Coolie tornado strikes War 2 internationally; Rajinikanth starrer grosses Rs. 27 crores compared to Rs. 4.5 crore for War 2 The film is looking to score history at the box office with an unimaginable opening day at the overseas market. The first day could be as high as Rs. 80 crores on Thursday, which speaks volumes about the hype commanded by Coolie among the cinema-going audience. While the total overseas advance of Coolie stands at Rs. 27 crores, War 2 has a sub-par response with advances of Rs. 4.50 crores. The Telugu version of War 2 has contributed 50 percent to the total advances so far. The film is trailing behind Coolie internationally, and the hope for revival in this will be the business in India, especially driven by NTR Jr. in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and Hrithik Roshan in the Hindi markets. At the moment, it looks like a clean sweep for Coolie to emerge as the first pick at the worldwide box office, until and unless War 2 makes up for the overseas gap with performance in India. Right now, it’s safe to conclude that the hype for War 2 is hit by a tornado in the form of Coolie. Isha Talwar recalls Shanoo Sharma’s “weird” audition request early in her career: “It shattered my confidence”

Popular Bollywood casting director Shanoo Sharma, known for discovering fresh talent for some of the industry’s biggest films, recently sat down for an interview with The Hollywood Reporter to discuss her work on the newly released film Saiyaara. However, a post related to the interview sparked a wave of candid revelations from actors who have auditioned for her in the past. Isha Talwar recalls Shanoo Sharma’s “weird” audition request early in her career: “It shattered my confidence” Isha Talwar Recalls “Weird Ask” During Early Audition In the comments section of the post, actress Isha Talwar opened up about an unusual audition she was asked to perform early in her career. She recounted, “So when I started auditioning for roles with Shanoo… I was told to perform a scene at a restaurant called Mia Cucina in Versova, Bombay… a CRYING scene in the middle of a busy working restaurant with customers dining next to my table. I was told I should have no inhibitions as an actor and hence I should be able to do a crying scene with Shanoo sitting in front of me and some of her assistants… It was such a confusing/weird ask… it shattered my confidence as a young girl in films.” Talwar went on to say she felt an audition should be conducted in a proper casting space or, if required at a real location, one should be hired for the purpose. She added, “I do remember saying I can’t do it and of course I never got the role… but at least I didn’t give in to the weird ask and surely didn’t cry at a restaurant for a role!” Sharing her story “a decade later,” Talwar said she wanted newcomers to feel “no pressure” if faced with similar situations. Nidhi Subbaiah Echoes Concerns Over Audition Environment Another actress, Nidhi Subbaiah, also took to the comments to reflect on her own early experience with Sharma’s casting process. She wrote, “Shanoo is sweet but I’m not sure of her casting process. Was shunned and made fun of by her assistants when I’d gone for my first audition. They kept giggling about how different photos are from reality while pointing at a Miss India who was with me for that audition.” Shanoo Sharma has not yet responded publicly to these accounts. No IMAX release for Weapons in India due to War 2; F1: The Movie refuses to slow down; gets another week’s run in IMAX screens

The mystery horror film, Weapons, has been released today worldwide, including India. There’s a lot of curiosity for the film as the pre-release reports have been solid. Though this is not a typical biggie, a section of the audience is excited to catch the film on the IMAX screens. However, the Indian audience won’t be lucky in this regard. No IMAX release for Weapons in India due to War 2; F1: The Movie refuses to slow down; gets another week’s run in IMAX screens It turns out that Weapons will skip an IMAX release in India. A source explained the reason for it, “Weapons releases on August 8, while War 2 is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on Thursday, August 14. Yash Raj Films (YRF), producers of War 2, have exclusively booked all 33 IMAX screens in India. Hence, Weapons would have got a run in IMAX for only 6 days as opposed to other parts of the world where it’ll continue to play for at least a few weeks. Warner Bros felt it was impractical to bring the film in IMAX in this country for such a short period of time and hence, decided to skip its IMAX release.” This means that F1: The Movie has got another extended run in the IMAX theatres in the country. Starring Brad Pitt, it was released on June 27 and despite not being a conventional mainstream entertainer, it continues to attract the audience steadily. In IMAX, however, it is having an outstanding run. It was discontinued from the IMAX theatres due to the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps. But from August 1, it was back and continues to rule. From August 8, F1: The Movie will have more shows in IMAX. In both the IMAX properties in Pune and at Cinepolis Seawoods Navi Mumbai and Cinepolis Thane, F1: The Movie will have four shows a day. It’s no surprise that the weekend shows are already filling fast, though it is currently in its seventh week. At the Indian box office, it has crossed the Rs. 90 crores mark and it remains to be seen if it manages to cross the Rs. 100 crores mark. Fans of F1: The Movie should note that this would be the last week for the film in IMAX, again, due to War 2. But it’s clear that there’s a lot of gas left in the tank and it won’t be a surprise if it manages to be back in IMAX cinemas once again after some time in one of the open weeks. Coming back to Weapons, the Zach Cregger-directorial has managed to have a decent advance booking and it’s better than the other big Hollywood week release of the week, Freakier Friday. It remains to be seen if Weapons also emerges as another surprise at the box office. AAP’s Misgovernance Has Crippled Public Institutions in Punjab: Arvind Khanna

BJP leader slams Punjab government for populist schemes and lack of planning, urges CM to act before it’s too late Chandigarh, August 8:Senior BJP leader and former MLA Arvind Khanna launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab, accusing it of adopting poorly planned populist policies that have pushed the state’s public institutions into serious financial distress. Khanna stated that schemes like free bus travel and free electricity were introduced without a concrete plan or adequate resources, and are now straining the state’s treasury and damaging vital institutions. He alleged that the government is now looking for ways to backtrack from these promises due to the mounting fiscal pressure. Citing official figures, Khanna pointed out that the monthly expenses on these freebies are not being released on time, causing immense hardship for government employees who often wait months for their salaries. He specifically mentioned the plight of PRTC and Roadways employees, who have staged repeated protests and road blockades, demanding timely salaries and proper maintenance of buses. “Despite these ongoing demonstrations, the government remains indifferent,” Khanna said. He further added that due to fund shortages, government buses are not being repaired on time, leading to frequent breakdowns and service disruptions — a situation that results in double losses for the transport department. “The people of Punjab didn’t elect AAP to entertain them with jokes. They were hoping for real solutions to real problems,” Khanna said, adding that the current government has failed to meet public expectations. He urged Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to take immediate and concrete steps to rescue public interest institutions from collapse. “If timely action is not taken, the people of Punjab will not forgive this government,” he warned. Under the banner of “Swachh Yuva Doot – A Brigade for Cleanliness,” around 50 children actively participated in cleaning the park by collecting scattered litter and disposing of it in the municipal garbage collection vehicle. They also took the opportunity to educate park visitors on maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings, encouraging them to keep their homes, neighborhoods, and the city clean and green. Present at the event were Area Councillor Rajinder Sharma, Ravinder Singh Billa, Chairman of Omkar Charitable Foundation, officials from Don Bosco Navjeevan Society, medical officers from the Health Department, and sanitation workers. All participants joined hands in cleaning the area and appealed to residents to contribute actively to the city’s cleanliness efforts. Father Reji Tom from Don Bosco Navjeevan Society praised the Municipal Corporation’s and NGOs’ efforts to make Chandigarh cleaner and more beautiful, while appreciating the children’s role in spreading awareness. Ravinder Singh Billa emphasized the need for citizens to refrain from dumping waste in the open and to only use municipal vehicles for garbage disposal. “The city is ours. Keeping it clean is our shared responsibility,” he said. The campaign serves as a strong reminder that community participation, especially by youth, is essential in building a cleaner, greener, and more responsible society.
