Pooja, a resident of Barnala, Punjab, competes in the Under-19 category and is fast emerging as one of India’s promising boxing talents. Coming from an economically underprivileged background, she began her training without proper facilities. With sheer determination, she turned adversity into opportunity—using a sack tied to a tree near her home as a makeshift punching bag. Her dedication and hard work soon bore fruit, earning her recognition at both the state and national levels. Over the years, Pooja has achieved remarkable milestones in her boxing career. She won the Gold Medal at the 2023 National Championship in Ranchi, followed by a Silver Medal at the 2025 National Championship in Chhattisgarh. At the state level, she has consistently performed well, securing two silver medals in the Punjab State Games (Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan) and a gold medal in the Federation State Championship. Despite her success, financial struggles posed challenges to her international ambitions. Recognizing her potential, Padma Shri Rajinder Gupta has provided ₹1,00,000 as financial assistance and pledged continued sponsorship to help her pursue higher achievements in the sport. After picking up glory across film festivals—including premiering at Berlin International Film Festival, winning Best Film at Leeds International Film Festival and Special Jury Prize at MAMI Mumbai Film Festival—the makers on Monday announced that Jugnuma will hit the big screen in India on September 12, with two globally renowned names coming on board as Executive Producers: Academy Award Winner Guneet Monga Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap. Set in the late 80s, the film follows Dev (Bajpayee), who discovers mysteriously burnt trees in his sprawling estate of fruit orchards nestled in the Indian Himalayas. In spite of all efforts, more fires break out, leading him to see himself and his family for who they truly are. The film also stars Deepak Dobriyal, Priyanka Bose and Tillotma Shome, among others. “I had loved Raam’s Thithi, which was so rooted and genuine, and with Jugnuma, he has created a film that feels timeless,” Anurag Kashyap said in a statement. The acclaimed helmer, who has previously collaborated with Bajpayee on the game-changing two-part epic Gangs of Wasseypur, called his act in the film “unlike anything” the audience has seen before. “The film is deeply humane yet magical in the way it unfolds. And at the centre of it, Manoj Bajpayee delivers a performance unlike anything we’ve seen before — restrained, enigmatic, and profoundly moving. It’s a film which I am extremely proud to present it to the Indian audience,” Kashyap added. Guneet Monga Kapoor (Presenter & Executive Producer) Sikhya Entertainment, said that when she first saw Jugnuma, it felt like a mirror. “It unsettled me, comforted me, and reminded me of cinema’s deepest purpose. Raam Reddy is one of the most exciting voices in Indian cinema today, and with Manoj Bajpayee and an extraordinary ensemble cast bringing his vision to life, this film feels like a modern classic in the making.” Monga Kapoor said the movie has been shot on film, even in this digital era, and so, every grain of colour speaks, adding to its timeless beauty. “We are proud to bring it to audiences in India, because films of this calibre deserve to be experienced and celebrated in theatres,” she added. With Hindi dialogues penned by Varun Grover, the film will get an India-wide release by Flip Films. Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan reunite after 18 years for Priyadarshan’s Haiwaan

Bollywood heavyweights Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan have officially begun filming for their much-anticipated collaboration with veteran director Priyadarshan, marking a reunion after nearly two decades. Production for the Hindi thriller Haiwaan officially kicked off today in Kochi, Kerala. Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan reunite after 18 years for Priyadarshan’s Haiwaan Akshay Kumar shared a behind-the-scenes video from the set, teasing his co-star and director and capturing fans’ attention with a playful exchange. The decision was taken by producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films who felt that the first week of November and post-Diwali time will be ideal for their movie.” An industry insider commented, “This is a good move as two major films are scheduled for a release on October 2 – Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1. November 7 is a better date in that regard.” Ikkis also stars Dharmendra and Jaideep Ahlawat. It is against the backdrop of the 1971 war and follows the life of second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal. Agastya plays the war hero in Ikkis. However, even on this new date, Ikkis will not have a solo release. It’ll clash with Ek Din, that also features a star kid – Junaid Khan. It also stars Sai Pallavi and was shot during the beautiful Snow Festival in the town of Sapporo, Japan. It is directed by Sunil Pandey and produced by Aamir Khan’s Aamir Khan Productions. The combination of high-octane thrills, melodic storytelling, and creative synergy continues to raise fans’ expectations. The star-studded cast includes Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, Randeep Hooda, Vikrant Massey, and Farida Jalal—heightening its buzz among cinema enthusiasts. Apart from this, Shahid will feature in Raj and DK’s highly anticipated web series Farzi Season 2, as well as Dinesh Vijan’s Cocktail 2, where he will star alongside Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna.
