Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria flags off ₹10 lakh worth of essential supplies for flood-hit families.
Chandigarh: In a strong display of social responsibility, the Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) and GB Legends, a leading team of the prestigious Chandigarh Golf League, have launched a large-scale relief and rehabilitation initiative for citizens affected by the devastating floods in Punjab.

The initiative was flagged off by Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, who dispatched four medium-sized trucks loaded with essential relief material worth more than ₹10 lakh to the worst-hit areas.
A ten-member leadership team of IGPL and GB Legends is driving the effort, featuring renowned international professional golfer Gaganjeet Bhullar, along with Uttam Mundi, Ishan D’Souza, Akhil Nair, Gaurav Gandhi, Jaspreet Bhaika, Amit Sood, Jatinder Bajwa, Colonel Harpreet Singh Mann, and Balwinder Singh.
Speaking to the media, Gaganjeet Bhullar said, “This is not just about relief, but about standing with the people of Punjab in their toughest times. Our collective efforts, supported by volunteers and well-wishers, aim to provide immediate relief and safeguard livelihoods.”

The relief consignment includes 100 portable iron-frame beds with covers, 650 mattresses, 500 plastic chairs, 500 ration bags, 150 tarpaulin sheets, 1,000 bags of animal fodder (30 kg each), sanitary pads, medical kits, mosquito nets, and repellents.

Colonel Harpreet Singh Mann, Captain of GB Legends, added that the supplies were gathered based on ground assessments of urgent needs. Over 50 dedicated volunteers will ensure smooth distribution, bringing comfort, security, and sustenance to displaced families and their livestock.
This initiative underscores how sports communities can unite beyond the field, extending meaningful support during humanitarian crises.
