Fans and artists paid a soulful musical tribute with a grand live orchestra at Tagore Theatre.
Chandigarh: The 96th Birth Anniversary of legendary playback singer Kishore Kumar was celebrated with grandeur at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh, on August 31. The event was organized by Kishore Kumar Fan and Charitable Club, Sirhind, and witnessed a vibrant gathering of music lovers and fans.

The evening began with the evergreen song “Zindagi Ek Safar Hai Suhana”, rendered by renowned singer Bishwanath Mukherjee, setting the tone for the musical journey. Special guest Shikha Tandon from the USA also graced the occasion.
Several talented artists, including Virender Dhiman, Tanishka, Jagdeep Danda (HCS), Radhika Grover, Dr. Gurpreet Singh Mavi, Sucheta, Parminder Singh (Vice President, Fan Club), and many others, paid tribute by performing Kishore Kumar’s timeless melodies. Performances like “Tera Mera Dil Se Dil Mil Gaya”, “Main Tere Pyar Mein Paagal”, “Piya Piya Mora Jiya Pukare”, and “Ek Din Bik Jayega Maati Ke Mol” drew resounding applause.
Adding to the charm, past winners of Mohammed Rafi Night, including Rajveer Bamaniya, performed duets alongside fellow singers, keeping the audience enthralled.
The event featured Chandigarh’s first-ever 22-piece live orchestra, with music arranged by Santosh Kataria. The show was anchored by Jagruti Sood, with special guests Harmeet Singh Batra and chief guest Sunil Verma (O.P. Jewellers, Sirhind) in attendance.
Organizer Baljit Singh from Sirhind, who has been successfully hosting Kishore Kumar Night for the past decade, said this year’s edition was the grandest, with over 20 singers delivering a heartfelt tribute to the evergreen legend. As always, entry was free for all attendees.
